EMERGENCY SERVICE

Foster Premier's emergency, after hours answering service phone number is 630-462-3144. This number is to be dialed only after 5PM (weekdays) and on weekends/holidays, when there is an emergency that needs to be addressed urgently (i.e. fires, floods, serious accidents). The answering service will contact Foster Premier (FP) directly. A representative from FP will call the resident back. It is important that the resident talk to the representative from FP and explain the issue so that the representative can take necessary action. If the resident doesn't answer, a message is left. If you get a message, please call back until you are able to talk to the FP representative. If the emergency is not resolved, it is important to call back if you think too much time has passed without a reply.

About Lakepointe 1

Welcome to the official website for Lakepointe 1, a unique condominium community located in Wauconda on the beautiful shores of Bangs Lake! The development, which is built on the site of the former "Cook's Picnic Grove", consists of 41 buildings totaling 194 units. The approximately 24 acres of scenic property has large, landscaped common areas that add to the privacy of each unit. The project began in 1989 and was completed in 1996.

Amenities include a private beach, lakefront walkway, pool, marina, fishing pier and a picnic area with a gazebo. 

Lakepointe is located a short distance from the police and fire stations, the center of town, local shopping areas, the library and the public schools.  Every unit has its own attached garage and there is additional parking nearby for guests.


Mission Statement
 
The Lakepointe #1 Homeowner’s Association and its Board of Directors are devoted to:
  • Maintaining the common elements of the 194 units on the property in an attractive esthetic manner to enhance safety and to protect property values;
  • Providing facilities and support for activities to enhance the lives of its residents;
  • Managing its financial resources in a responsible fiscal manner in accordance with its published rules and regulations, the Illinois Condominium Property Act and local Wauconda ordinances;
  • Ensuring open communication between the elected Board of Directors and its residents in a timely manner through open meetings and its website;
  • To assist in these responsibilities, the Board of Directors employs a managing agent under an annual contract.

Fun Facts about Wauconda and Lakepointe

  • Bangs Lake is a 300-acre glacial lake, created over 10,000 years ago by receding glaciers. 
  • Justus Bangs, the 1st settler of Wauconda, built a home here in 1848. The lake was named after him. 
  • The town of Wauconda was organized in 1849. The Village of Wauconda was incorporated in April, 1872. 
  • Wauconda was named for an Indian Chief by that name. Translated from its Indian language, it means “Spirit Water."
  • As early as 1926, Wauconda became known as a beach community.
  • Phil’s Beach, Sunny/Honey Hill Beach and Cook’s Grove were popular for their water slides and swimming platforms.
  • Cook's Grove (now Lakepointe) was a resort and picnic grove owned by Mertie Cook.
  • Mertie sold Cook's Grove in 1964 to Mike and Tony Barnas.
  • The actor, John Belushi, was drawn to the Wauconda beaches in the 1970s. 
  • This led to several scenes of “The Blues Brothers” being filmed on these beaches in 1979.
  • The Barnas brothers opened the Grove from Memorial  to Labor Day for 23 years.
  • The brothers sold the Grove in 1987 to Ed Connell and his partner, Greg Hummell. 
  • Ed and Greg partnered with The Hoffman Group to plan the development of Lakepointe.
  • Their goal was to retain the traditional character by integrating the development into the landscape.
